What Makes It Distinctive

A D20 You Set in Motion

The result does not come from the pointer alone. The numbered outer ring also rotates, creating a second shifting layer. Twenty numbers are arranged non-sequentially around the ring, turning the motion of the mechanism into a D20 result.

Prague

The Prague Astronomical Clock is known for a densely layered dial in which astronomical, calendrical, and symbolic systems share one surface. That compression appears here through tiered divisions, strong radial alignment, and a firmly anchored center. The Prague edition uses Arabic numerals.

Lyon

The astronomical clock in Lyon Cathedral feels measured and deliberate. Its structure favors segmentation, repetition, and controlled spacing. The Lyon edition carries that restraint into a symmetrical layout with Roman numerals and a steady rhythm across its facets.

Padua

The Padua Astronomical Clock was both practical and symbolic, placing the zodiac and the city within a larger celestial order. The Padua edition reflects that idea through a more open outer ring, Roman numerals, and a composition that feels less fixed to a single point.

Product story

Time, Recast as a D20

The Astronomical Clock D20 is still a D20. Its form simply comes from centuries of astronomical clockmaking.

It is not a miniature reproduction, and it does not attempt to recreate the original mechanisms. What remains are their proportions, symbols, and visual order: the systems once used to hold time and the sky within a single structure.

Set it flat on the table and put it into motion by hand. The outer ring and central pointer rotate together, then settle on your result.

Questions answered

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it a real D20?

Yes. The twenty results are distributed around the rotating outer ring, allowing it to function as a D20 for tabletop play.

How do I use it?

Place it flat on the table and set it into motion by hand. The outer ring and central pointer rotate, then the pointer settles on the result.

What creates the random result?

Both the pointer and numbered outer ring move. These two shifting layers determine where the pointer comes to rest.

Is it a miniature astronomical clock?

No. It is an original D20 inspired by the proportions, symbols, and visual systems of historical astronomical clocks.

When does public retail launch?

Public retail sales begin on October 24, 2026 at 8:00 AM Beijing Time. Kickstarter fulfillment is currently in progress.
